Arras , a company set up to promote handicrafts , handloom as well as traditional arts of India , was floated in 1996. Ever since its inception , the company has been engaged in design, development  sourcing art and crafts products , organizing exhibitions and marketing arts and crafts in India and abroad. Through these endeavours , the company has established direct contact, acquainted itself with the materials, techniques, marketing, viability of product etc. As developers and exporters of art and craft items , Arras has acquired deep knowledge and understanding of aesthetic quality of objects. In the last ten years, Arras has undertaken coordination of making and exporting of high quality inlayed marble carvings to U.K., and sourcing and exporting of handicrafts to Europe and America. Arras exported clay relief works to Birmingham , an exhibition of Indian toys to U.K. and is now engaged in sourcing and exporting of clay work of Sarguja district in Chhatisgarh. Arras has acquired a large tract of land near Delhi for the purpose of organizing craft workshops, craft demonstrations and exhibitions as well as for manufacturing. In these activities designer inputs play an important role and quality becomes of prime concern . The basic idea behind the craft workshops is to create rich and traditional designs for contemporary use. Arras is proficient in creating designs from the rich historical heritage of India.
